She possesses the good looks of her mother, the talent of her father, but she is without doubt an artist in her own right, earned by her hardwork, her merits and achievement werent given to her....... This blonde headed bombshell was born in Houston, Texas; she started playing piano and singing at the age of seven. Drawing her early influences from singers like Jesse Colter and Rita Coolidge, its not surprising that Texas Monthly has called that voice “torchy,” and the Los Angeles Times praised, “There’s no missing the unforced power of her singing.” Once she hit high school, she says, the kids at school started to notice something Paula already knew: Their classmate’s dad is Willie Nelson. Paula says, it’s pretty hard to stay away from music when your dad’s the guy who started outlaw country. So when she was about 18, Nelson started hitting up karaoke bars and testing the waters to see if she might want to do the music thing, too. “Eventually I just really kind of started trying to sing and do it on my own without people knowing anything about my background,” she said. “That was easier to do in the rest of the states. In Texas, it was a little bit harder to do because I have a lot of family here and friends.” But Nelson came to terms with who her family was and eventually she started touring Texas and beyond, making her way, paying her dues. Talent aside, Paula Nelson is just plain beautiful: Petite with blond hair, a heart-melting smile and eyes that alternate between cool slate and sharp, crystal blue, she’s a knockout. She’s got colorful biceps tattoos and can rock a pair of boots like no one I’ve ever seen. Singing isn’t all she does. She’s raced in a Nascar truck and did a little stunt driving for the Texas-centric TV show Friday Night Lights. She’s pretty modest about this, though, swearing she’s no stuntwoman. Paula has stated,“I don’t like heights, so I probably won’t be driving off any cliffs,” she said. “But I like driving fast.” She also picked up tae kwon do more than a decade ago at her father’s request as a way to exercise and relieve stress.
