She was blonde and blue-eyed…..a lovely little 6 yr. old girl… Her heart was as tender as anyone Ive ever known. In our family, most of us are aggressive and independent. She was mild mannered and slow to wrath, what a BLESSING!! Dont get me wrong, she could reach her limit and take a stand!! When she took a stand you knew it!!! She had a teacher that got her kicks out of singling out the milder mannered children and treating them like a junkyard dog! Six years old and she was faced such problems……what a shame to happen to ANY CHILD AT ANY AGE!! No amount of visiting with this teacher brought about any resolution to the problem…..SO….I pulled out the stops!! I informed the Principal of the school, I would be sitting in the classroom EVERY DAY to observe. If I caused no disruption, I could NOT be kept from doing so!! So, next day, I put on my sweetest, ornery smile and sat in class…..I was in FIRST GRADE AGAIN!! ;-) I stared at the teacher and followed their every step with my eyes and smile. I didnt cause disruption in the classroom, but on recess….I informed the teacher, I could teach the children to push buttons, such as pretend you didnt hear and say huh….a LOT, answer slowly, ask to go to the bathroom often and the like….. Im the last of nine children, so Im very good at orneriness!!! If you cant solve a problem up front and with maturity, use the next level that is effective….thats my motto! The one day at school solved the problem!!! This teacher actually became one of my sorta friends, but the little girl never got over the hurt! We can hurt children so easily, we HAVE to be so aware of that fact. This little blonde girl lived her life to the age of 23 yrs. old and was killed in a car accident in CA……she went to see her brother who was a Marine…..just returning from Desert Storm combat duty!!! She spent one day with him, before the accident! It took 15 years…..the longest DAY of my life…..before I could honestly say I woke up with a sense of comfort and willingness to face life! Loved ones help….A LOT! My son was there for me and he is a wonderful person who served our Nation willingly and in hot combat situations! Im very proud of both of my children and have the peace of knowing they both accepted Jesus as their Saviour at a young age! I can leave this world knowing, regardless of my short comings as a mom, both will be with me in Glory! With our world in such a mess, we need to make SURE of our own Salvation and to at least expose our children, family and friends to Jesus. We cant make the choice for them, but we can introduce them to Him. Hope to see you in church!! Blessings, ME
