She wore the prettiest lavendar outfit, with a big bow in her hair to match and Mary Janes on her feet because she didnt know how to tie her shoes and didnt want anyone to know for her first day of Kindergarten. She kissed all her babies good bye before we left that morning and told them, I gotta go to school for thirteen years and then Ill be back later. I laughed and remembered thinking how sad I was that shed gotten to this milestone so quickly, but how exciting it was to think in just three years, shed be at my school. I had wished I had been able to stay home with her so much and now wed made it to this point! So we ventured to Denning School and she told me stories of how her babies didnt want her to leave and reassured me that theyd be fine and so would she. As we pulled up to the school, she gathered her stuff and told me shed see me later, like she was 25 or something. I quickly jumped out and told her I was going to go in with her and she told me I could come as long as I didnt cry......Mrs. Crabtree was ready for us as we made our way into the room and I asked for the typical photo shoot that all moms take on the first day. Mrs. Crabtree knelt beside Carington & quizzically Carington studied her and then knelt beside her too saying,Mom look, shes Catholic too! We laughed and it broke up the moment. It wasnt long and Carington Grace headed out to find her desk and I heard her telling all the kids she knew her colors and shapes, could read, was the best colorer and knew how to do the best cartwheels. She blew me a kiss, smiled and said, Bye, Mom; Ill be fine and I wont be long. She was right.... She had the world by the tail and just like that.....she became a Senior! Have a great first, last day tomorrow Class of 2015! I love you, Cari Grace.
