Shedding a few tears this morning as I sit and watch the video of my beautiful boy and think of what was meant to be and how things can change and alter everything so quickly. Whilst gelding him and loosing him as my up and coming stallion has hurt and broken my heart, I know deep down that I do now have a future amazing saddle horse. Crazy Heart has being kept from the public eye since a foal due to a severe injury that he sustained to one hock, which caused permanent swelling. He was unshown as a colt due to this and the thought that people would straight away jump to conclusions as to why swelling was there. As a gelding I know he will still be judged by everyone on the outside with assumptions made before asking, but feel that as a gelding it will not be an issue, so he will now hit the public eye, I know to be judged and to be looked at as what would have been, but has not been. Breeding horses is not an easy game, it requires great dedication and the guts to be prepared to take the hardest of hits. For small breeders in an industry where the well knowns are always the standouts it is certainly the hardest, but we soldier on, we present what we feel is our best, we breed a couple of horses a year and we take great pride when presenting them to the public. I love my horses, I love the thought of not knowing really what you are going to get in the long run. It is all a massive gamble, one that costs us a fortune, but when they grow into everything you ever wanted you realise the fairytale really has come true. To all whom have supported me over the years I say a massive thankyou. Whilst one dream has ended, another one starts and next season you will see Heartthrob Arabians hit the ring with the very best we have to offer, our strongest show team yet, all prepared for the first time from Heartthrob Arabians home base, with the help of Penny Jane Buckthought and Tamara Bondfield and guidance along the way from Heath Rowbottom. It takes great dedication, great strength, great care and a lot of hard work, but we think the horses all look pretty darn good. vimeo/100622245
