Sheep version of history: Hitler annexed an unwilling Austria. True History: April 10, 1939 in a nationwide referendum 99.73% if the Austrian people vote in favor of reunification with the German Reich. So much for the annexation of Austria. During the morning hours of the next day the German troops entered Austria marching towards Salzburg, Linz, etc. through flower filled streets with National Socialist colors being openly displayed and were greeted with jubilation and tears of joy from the Austrian people. When Hitler arrived in Vienna the next day, the Austrians welcomed him triumphantly. The rest of the world had been in a severe depression for a very long time, the same one that the Germans experienced as an intentional consequence of the Treaty of Versailles in the early 20s many years before it happened to everybody else. Hitler and the National Socialists kicked out the bankers, rescued the Germans, and enjoyed and economic and social boom. Meanwhile, the economic policies of Roosevelt, Churchill et. al. were failing, and they were calling for a "long war of at least three years." That was what they needed, in the words of Churchill himself. Meanwhile, the Germans were steadily begging for peace, while the German people around them, most of whom had been ripped away by the destructive and utterly unfair Treaty of Versailles, were begging to be reunified with their home country so they could enjoy the fruits of the success and the freedom that came with it. Wake up sheep. The history is a lie.
