Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky attended Islamic Awakening Conference in Tehran Monday 10 March 2014 14:46 The Leader of the Shiite Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky attended the Islamic Awakening Supreme Council meeting which kicked off on March 10, 2014 in Tehran. According to the Secretariat of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, the Leader of the Shiite Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky siad that Iran is the pioneer of Islamic Awakening and this incident occurred when African and the African Arabic countries were under the influence of imperialism. He also mentioned the regrettable situation in South Sudan and massacre of Muslims in Central Africa and noted the need for unity among religions. The 6th meeting of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Awakening started work in Tehran this morning. Former Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim Jafari is the head of this meeting. Jafari, 67, is an Iraqi politician who was prime minister of Iraq in the Iraqi Transitional Government from 2005 to 2006, following the January 2005 election. In this meeting important issues of the Islamic world and Islamic countries will be discussed and considered by more than fifty leading figures and influential personalities in the Islamic Awakening movement from various countries of Islamic awakening movement who attended the gathering. Over the past few years, Iran has hosted several international conferences on the Islamic Awakening including “Islamic Awakening and Youth,” “Women and the Islamic Awakening” and “Muslim University Professors and Islamic Awakening”.
