Shelly shares: I was wondering if you could post a question for me. I have a 3 year old son who was recently diagnosed with autism. We have a terrible time with naps an bedtime. Instead of sleeping he tears up his bedroom, throws things out of the room, and screams. It keeps his baby brother (whos in the next room) up, and he barely gets any sleep because he does this for hours. Is there any advice anyone could give me for helping him sleep? He is also incredibly hyper, and needs to calm down. Im so afraid he will hurt himself. So advice on that would be great too. Ive talked to his doctor and they keep suggesting medication, but I really dont want to medicate him if I dont have to. Please, any advice is greatly appreciated. Im new to this, so Im still learning. Thanks so much.
