Sheridan Goes the Distance for 600 Open Win #2 at Deming by Kaleb Hart Deming, WA | June 19, 2014 - Racecars were not the only things that were rapid on Robinson & Kole Attorneys at Law and Popchips night at Deming Speedway last Friday: As Austin Sheridan crossed under the checkered flag to score the win in the Speedmart Hoosier 600 division, the clock struck 854pm. Not bad for a Friday the 13th with a full moon. Win number two in his Speedmart Hoosier 600 Open division career was in ways more satisfying than his first for Austin Sheridan. Earlier in the season, Sheridan won a rain shortened main event to grab win number one – on this night, Sheridan battled side by side with Kelly Mauck early in the main event before pulling away to a roughly six car length advantage and going without challenge to score win number two. Brock Lemley took second and Robbie Price was third. Austin was also a heat race winner along with Chase Schmidt. Dustin O’Brien was the quick qualifier.
