Sherman & Hemstreet is proud to announce that we have leased a 21,000 soft space to Maryland based, Chiron Tech a defense contractor specializing in world-wide cybersecurity training, research and development, and consulting that will help facilitate the mission at Fort Gordon. They will be located off of Interstate Parkway in one of University of Phoenixs vacated buildings. Charles Hock represented the University of Phoenix on negotiating a sublease and Jonathan Aceves represented Chiron. This new facility, opened on Jan 1st, will employee 26 highly skilled cybersecurity experts and will provide cross-spectrum cybersecurity research and development and training in a variety of operational network security disciplines. Joe Edge, Owner of Sherman and Hemstreet Real Estate praised the move, saying, “Fort Gordon has always been a key driver in our local economy, attracting government contractors and technology companies. Now, with the addition of the US Cyber Command to Fort Gordon and Chiron Technology, Augusta will lead the region in cyber and IT growth.” Dave Pappas, President and CEO of Chiron added, “Our expansion into Augusta will help us more efficiently train and equip Ft. Gordon cybersecurity professionals as well as provide operational support to additional customers throughout the southeast.
