Shocking to evolutionists, but not to biblical creationists, - TopicsExpress

Shocking to evolutionists, but not to biblical creationists, another layer of information has been detected in DNA! Multiple codons in DNA (transcribed into RNA) code for the same amino acid in the protein. For example, GGU, GGC, GGA, and GGC all code for glycine. So it was thought that it didnt matter what codon was used since the same amino acid resulted in the protein. The genetic code was thought to be redundant and the official scientific term is degenerate. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The specific codons used are important for translational pausing. This causes the ribosome to pause as the protein is translated at certain points and is believed to be important for proper protein folding. How would something like this evolve by random chance? Not only is the correct sequence of codons required but only certain codons can be used at certain positions for certain amino acids to cause proper protein folding. Once again we need a new name- junk DNA is not junk and the genetic code is not degenerate!
