Shooter...to be or not to be...a stud...that is the question many - TopicsExpress

Shooter...to be or not to be...a stud...that is the question many of you have presented to me. My original intension in breeding Daisy or any mare in the past few years was due to Oreos age and his mortality. Had this not been an issue I would not have bred him given the countries economic condition. Why add more horses?? But in all my years there is in my professional opinion no finer stallion to pass of these amazing traits he carries. I specifically wanted a buckskin and white colt...not black and white to carry on so Shooter at this time is destined to remain a stallion. I will leave him a stud until at least 3 or 4 years to allow his body, neck and chest to properly develope. If at that time he does not possess the attitude, intelligence, presence, gentleness and natural abilities his father carries...namely gait, I will then decide to geld him. I do not breed just to add to an overpopulation of horses. I do not breed to make money. I breed Oreo to make a difference and that will be my same intentions for Shooter should he turn out to be all I expect. I know Oreo is my baby...but I did not buy him because I loved him...I bought him because he was the most magnificent horse I have ever stood next to in my life and literally...PURE PERFECTION! Shooter must measure up and if he does I will access the current economic conditions at that time and decide if he will be bred.
