Shooting In Sunapee Investigated SUNAPEE, NH-- On Sunday, September 28, at approximately 11:50 p.m., the Sunapee Police Department responded to a call of shots fired at a residence located at 17 Bradford Road in Sunapee, NH. Two residents were home at the time but were not injured during the incident. As a result of the ongoing investigation, Sunapee police recovered evidence at the scene which is consistent with the residence having been shot at. Subsequently, the Sunapee Police Dept. and the Newport Police Dept. served a search warrant at a residence in Newport which resulted in the recovery of further evidence in regard to the shooting in Sunapee. Interviews conducted by the Sunapee Police Department have resulted in the recovery of a handgun in a small pond located in the Newbury, NH. Based on the Sunapee Police Department’s investigation, the suspect and/or suspects in this case knew the victim and the victim was singled out as a result of a previous argument. Although this was a dangerous situation, the Sunapee police believe it was not a random act and do not consider the public-at-large to be in danger. This investigation is active and ongoing, and the Sunapee Police Department is making every effort to arrest the suspect and/or suspects as soon as possible and do anticipate making an arrest or arrests in this case over the next several days. If anyone has any information in this case, please contact the Sunapee Police Department. The Sunapee Police Department has been assisted in this investigation by other agencies namely, the Newport Police Department, New London Fire Department, Lake Sunapee Dive Team, and the Newbury Police Department.
