Shopkick tips. One friend joined so here are some tips. 1. You can earn one point per day just opening the app. Sometimes you get nothing but a try again tomorrow. Some rare times you get more than one point or it works more than once a day. Seems to be on Pacific time zone so do in midday Eastern time or latter part of your day. 2. You earn points if the app is open and on your screen in view as you enter the entrance doors of most stores. Pause as you enter store and hope the music is playing over the loudspeakers of the store. It should say Hello (your first name). Then it awards points. When opening daily watch for stores with large point values. Visit multiple stores in a day but not two of the same store. If you frequent one store too much you get 0 points for that brand of store. You can see this as the first number of three numbers listed in the search listings for each city in the store listing. Some stores only award points for item bar codes scanned. See 3. Some only offer points for credit card linking - I dont link my card. 3. Scanning items. Start by doing 1 and 2 at store. Leave app open. Scroll items to scan from that menu for the city and store. Most success happens in area with good store sound near front of store. Avoid letting app close or home screen sleep. That can mess up scanning meaning you have to walk to front of store and try again. But points you earn are yours. Drains battery fast on 3GS iPhones. Good luck. 4. Editors books. When you open app hit the tiny icon that looks like paper in upper right. Opens a menu. Select editors books. Open a book. Scroll thru its pages. View items. Find surprise page as last page or near last page. Earn point or more for opening. Check out all books. A book that is done or too old does not award points. Some books have no surprise page. Some it is ... Surprise, page, last page. So scroll carefully. If you do this with others they know which books to open and skip when there is no surprise. Happy shop kicking.
