Short Clip Gaza Watch & Share This Video Gaza bombardment further traumatizes children: Charity The world’s top independent charity for children has warned that the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip further traumatizes young people in the besieged Palestinian enclave. Save the Children said the mental health of Palestinian kids is being jeopardized by relentless Israeli airstrikes, emphasizing that the latest wave of air attacks has made it impossible for child psychologists to finish the delicate task of rebuilding the mental health of kids suffering from the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from previous waves of conflicts. The international nongovernmental organization further noted that children are likely to face sleeping disorders and other behavioral issues. Osama Damo, the communications senior manager for Save the Children, said children are likely to face a lot of disorders at sleeping times “because military operations often take place during the night.” He added, “The fear that they will be left with is unmanageable for children.” Damo also stated that there are organizations working in Gaza to provide safe places for children during raids. Save the Children is calling on all sides of the conflict to agree to a ceasefire so that vital services can be provided to the children of Gaza. A total of 163 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have lost their lives in the impoverished region since Tuesday. Nearly 1,100 others have been also injured in the ongoing deadly air raids. The Israeli military has called up thousands of reservists for a possible large-scale ground invasion into the Gaza Strip. Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has warned that it is prepared to hit back at Israeli forces should the Tel Aviv regime launch a ground attack against Gaza.
