Short teaser from a book Im planning to write, tell me what you think - Chapter 1 It all started with fire, therfore its only fitting that it ends with such. Through all the things I have seen & done, no one, not even the Oracle saw it ending this way. To understand this first you must start at the beginning, my begining. It was darkness that greeted my first. The first thing I could remember. Its emptiness that seemed to ooze despair. I was born a slave, put in a cell with nothing but a ratty bed in the corner. Nothing such as comfort existed for me for a long time. Each day dragged out to learn, to work & to suffer. This occurred daily. If you resisted you suffered, to what we described as hell to our childish minds. I was trapped in this facility alongside numerous others for twelve years. It wasnt till I was older & I had broken out that I realized just what our wardens were trying to accomplish. But by that point, it was too late to matter. 23 years later; The street was crowed, as expected during the evening rush. People rushing about, shuffling from store to stalls that lined the sides of the street. The market district of his part of the city was fairly safe & clean even though it bordered the outland. No one was stupid enough to try anything, no one except those like me.
