Should everyone be expected to donate their organs? Last night Wales became the first part of the UK where people will be presumed to have consented for their organs to be donated unless they opt out. According to the NHS Organ Donor register South Asians are MUCH MORE likely to need organs than the general population but are MUCH LESS likely to donate their organs to be used after their death.
