Should have said something when the article came out, or when Tom - TopicsExpress

Should have said something when the article came out, or when Tom Stafford posted but I wanted time to think...I did... This is the letter I sent to the Weekly Valley Moonee Valley Sept. 3-9 (article by Sue Hewitt): When did a promise from a politician stop holding meaning? Planning Minister Matthew Guy promised me in writing, even standing in Parliament, stating that he would not intervene with zoning and development for what would be the most major undertaking in Moonee Valley at the Moonee Valley Racecourse. Mr. Guy backflipped granting the Racecourse their ask without the decency to consult local Council. Mr. Guys surreptitious manoeuvring reeks of cronyism, making a mockery of the democratic process. Its painfully clear that Mr. Guy was all along in the Racecourses deep pockets, his decision motivated by selfish political ambition. I may be just one small voice, but Ill do all I can to let the Matthew Guys of the world know that a promise made needs to be a promise kept. All Ms. Hewitt wrote was MV res. JV said Mr. Guy had written to her last year, assuring her he wouldnt intervene on the issue. She was disappointed he had. Disappointed? Major understatement. I shouldnt have agreed to the corny photo where it was urged that I look stern and cross my arms like a dolt. They totally missed my point on every front. No surprise, no ones getting anything right when it comes to MVRC these days, especially if it involves Mr. Guy.
