Should the person who design the PNG flag be made a knighthood Dear Prime Minister please don’t award Knighthood to Foreigners, or your drinking buddys (Recent local Businessman). That’s what was done recently in 2012. Susan Karike (Now Susan Huhume) became a household name when at the age of 15 and a student attending Sacred Heart Mission School on Yule Island, her simple design for the PNG flag stole the approval of many Papua New Guineans including the members of the then House of Assembly who voted in favor of it. The flag design was first used in 1971 and 4 years later the Australian Flag was lowered down and the First PNG flag was raised during Independence Day in 1975. Please give her the Knighthood its been almost 43 years now, give where is due.
