Should we confess to be forgiven? @Tou Answer: No. Nothing can be futhured from the truth, I know where many of you come from 1 John1:9 that if we confes our sins He is faithful enough to forgive us. Jesus says from the mouth of two witneses truth shall be establishe,no where in the new testament can you find something that says we should confes to be forgiven after Christ has died. One,confesions of sin is the result of sin consciousnes which is an insult to Gods finished work. Hebrews 10:2 Say once and for all He has cleansed the worshipers so they should no longer have the concsiousnes of sins. When you continualy confess sins you are actualy saying that your conscience is not cleansed. Ohk who was 1John 1:9 written to? Was it to the christians(born again)or those who didnt believe in Jesus. Lets look who was John sent to preach to. Galatians 2:9 James,Peter and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand to felloship when they recognised the grace given to me. They agreed we should go to the GENTILES and THEY TO THE JEWS. Hope one has a memory, Jews were people who didnt believe in Jesus Christ as the saviour. So John wrote that to those who still thought by their good works can get what Christ came to give us who believed. To us who believe the forgivenes of sins came by the death of Jesus Christ not my confesion of sins Ive comited nor the ones I comit. Hebrews 10:10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the BODY OF JESUS CHRIST ONCE AND FOR ALL. The sacrifice of Christ has made me holy and sancified not my right doing and my confesion. Hebrews 8:12 For I will forgive their sins and remember them no more. Qouting from Ezekiel, remember Ezekiel was written befor Jesus walked on earth so God spoke that to Ezekiel reffering to Jesus who was to come and take sin. What forgives sin? Your confesion or Jesus Christs sacrifice? If we could be forgiven by confession the Christ came for nothing. In Mark 2 we find a man where Jesus says Son your Sins are forgiven no where do we read that the man confesed the sins to Jesus. Acts 13:39 Through Him EVERYONE who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from the Law of Moses. Acts 10:43 All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him RECEIVES FORGIVENESS OF SINS through His name. Now corecting you my sister from sayin we earn forgiveness THERES NO SCRIPTURE AFTER THE DEATH THAT CAN TESTIFY WITH YOU. But now Peter say everyone who believes receives not earn forgiveness of sins. Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins.... Colosians 1:14 In Him we have redemption, the forgivenes of sins. This has nothing to do with confession nor comitment but Just believing that Jesus Christ has forgiven you. Back to 1 John 1:9 John is not talking to believers but to Jews who needed to accept the forgivenes of Christ. Listen, Jesus Christ took all your sins what you need to confess is His forgiveness not our sins. Do you believe this?
