Shout out to my AWESOME Volunteers at The Community Clothes Closet who have made our first 2 weeks a great success. In a little less than a month, our volunteers rented an old garage, cleaned it out, set up a thrift store from the ground up, took delivery of a full store worth of fixtures, advertised through our sister churches and the local media, sorted at least 2 tons of donated clothing, decorated and built a childrens corner, threw a Grand Opening and most of all ... met a community need with a truly amazing Outreach Mission for the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church. This Mission has weighed on my heart for some time now. It grew from an idea of a clothing exchange held in early 2013. With the help of Missy Jo Shoop, we came up with the idea of a thrift store to serve our rural community. Pastor Meagan Boozer gave us encouragement and support. The Church Elders and the Mission Outreach Committee believed in us. God has been guiding us in this task, and whenever we hit a wall or got discouraged, something happened to move us forward. So to all of our staff .... Missy, Lisa, Shane the Gatekeeper, Meagan, Naomi, Laurie, Gavin, Kala, Chuck, Robyn and Michael ... my heartfelt Thank You.
