Show me stylists who struggle with recommending products to their guests to recreate their looks at home and I’ll show you stylists who are pleasers and givers to an extreme. Such stylists are driven by the desire to be thought of by their guests as charitable generous and lovable people at all costs because they love the approval they get from being so. Notice I said: ‘at all costs’ which means he or she will not engage in any conversations with their guests that runs the risk of being seen as opposite including retail conversations. This is a common pattern in many stylists and until it’s overcome it will keep them from greater success.
