Show/night review: WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME HOW AMAZING BEYOND - TopicsExpress

Show/night review: WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME HOW AMAZING BEYOND CREATION ARE LIVE?!?!? Easily one of the greatest live acts Ive EVER seen. My body was so not ready. Just superb. Almost immediately after their set, I spotted John Longstreth (drummer for Origin, Dim Mak, ex-Gorguts) trying to wake himself up over by a pool table. He signed my copy of Colored Sands next to Luc Lemays signature, and then it was interesting when I pulled out Dim Maks Emergence of the Reptilian Altars album. John had never seen a physical copy of the album. He had some harsh words about willowtip in regards to that. Then we talked some about the upcoming Dim Mak stuff. Next I ran into Jason Keyser (singer in Origin, ex-Skinless, ex-Mucopus), and he was down for signing the Mucopus Undimensional album I brought. He still digs that album. I told him how I saw him live with Skinless back years ago, and that he let me get on the stage with him back then and it was awesome. Next I talked with one of the Beyond Creation guys about how awesome Unhuman is, and they I picked up some of their merch, and they hooked me up with a poster free-of-charge. King Parrot proved to be one of the most over-the-top Australian acts Ive ever seen. Heres just a few things that happened. The singer continually removed his shorts so people could smack his bare ass. He spit on his own chest, and another dude rubbed his hand in it. He turned the pit into a slipnslide. He took a wooden chair, jumped in the pit, and threw it while threatening people to punch him. He ran up to people sitting in the back and screamed at them and heckled anyone with a cell phone out. Etc. etc. They were crazy, unpredictable, and a good time. One of their members looked like Super Mario in real life. Origin were up next. They were so much better than when I saw them before Jason joined. The sound was perfect, and it was fun that their frontman noticed how much I was spazzing out, and would continually cue to me start pits. At one point he even told me to start a one man circle pit but almost immediately everybody around joined in, it was a total blast. In 2006, I got on stage and windmilled next to Jason with Skinless, and tonight, I got on stage and windmilled next to Jason with Origin. Jason at one pointed proclaimed, due to the small crowd, that he once saw Manowar play in front of a room of 16 people like it was 1,600, but theyre the Kings of Metal. We might not be the Kings of Metal, but maybe the Kings of... Aluminum... or Copper. They played like the room was packed. After the show I thanked Jason, and he in turn thanked me for coming out and jumping all around during their set. So yeah, I had a great night. Show got out at 1pm, so I managed to get to the Ball State library by 2 and still get an hour of work done before they closed. Superb night. And one of the best shows Ive seen in a while, everybody was really into it.
