Showers and storms really popping up quickly this morning. These are mainly along the I-10 and I-12 corridor. Originally looked like a little less coverage today but will probably be a lot like the past couple of afternoons. Hot outside the rain with low 90s but the showers of course will cool things down. These are drifting to the west but not very fast so expect some heavy downpours with storms that develop over you. Heavy rain will be the main threat for the day. As usual rain will end tonight with low to mid 70s and then we should be drier through the weekend. Next system to watch in the tropics for development looks to be the wave in the Bay of Campeche, but again it will not be an issue for the northern gulf.-Hank
