Shree Mulund KVO Trekking Unit presents a Marine Wildlife and Biodiversity Camp to Dunny Point Island, Bet Dwarka with Dwarka & Somnath Sightseeing from 22nd December to 28th December,2014. For all age Group. About Dunny Point: Dunny Point is a small island connected to bet Dwarka, the first eco-tourism site in Gujarat, which is ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The site also features a wide variety of marine life, including dolphins, turtles, fishes and dugongs. Tourists indulge in several activities like bird watching, water polo, kite flying, meditation and cruise vacations. First eco-tourism site, promises to be one more feather in Gujarat’s cap. Active nature conservation is a vital aspect of government policy, the declaration of new nature reserves enables, on the one hand, species to thrive in protected environment while, on the other, allows visitors to sample nature without despoiling the ecosystem. The Place: Bet Dwarka is a famous Hindu place of pilgrimage. But few know about its rich and extensive marine life. Thus, the sheer proximity of Sundarvans marine campsite at Dunny Point to Bet Dwarka attracts hundreds of participants. The marine life that can be spotted during the camp includes sponges, jelly fish, sea feathers, sea anemones, bristle worms, corals, molluscs, barnacles, crabs, starfish, sea cucumbers, marine turtles, sea snakes and dolphins. Winter brings migratory birds, too! Activities: Living in jute shelters, exploring the seashore, group bathing, nature games, enjoying sunset, star-gazing, visiting coral reef, bivouacking for those who volunteer, talks on marine environment, and a feedback session are integral part of the camp activities. Food: Nutrition and healthy Gujarati & Kathiawadi food.
