Shut up and get a job - um, excuse me, what workflow? skills gap? - TopicsExpress

Shut up and get a job - um, excuse me, what workflow? skills gap? are you talking about? Unemployment is always a product of private malfeasance and public failure. Unemployment rates are based on eligibility for unemployment insurance, not on formal employment status, and are deflated by counting prisoners and GIs as part of civilian employed. inequality.is/fixable The civilian employment-to-population ratio has fallen from 63% before the recession started in December 2007 to 59.4 percent when the recession officially ended in June 2009. Since that time it has fallen even further, to just 58.7 percent. A smaller percentage is employed (part-time workers are counted as employed, further distorting the picture), yet the official unemployment rate went from 10% down to 7.6%. Flexibilized up, over, and out. Just because someone is unpaid, does not mean that one doesnt work (domestic caretakers, volunteers, youth apprentices and interns know all about this, and finding a paid job is a full-time job). Why should people unable to work due to injury/illness/disability or age not be able to live? Why should people in educational/vocational programs have to depend on parents/guardians/spouses or creditors for income? And for those in paid jobs, why shouldnt they do so for themselves or cooperatively, instead of for someone else under lousy terms and conditions? Micro-enterprise support and public infrastructure investment now!
