Siamese Connection Read Genesis 2:18-25 Encouragement for the day – “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:25 NKJV First responders should be familiar with the Siamese Connection. The Siamese Connection is typically located on the front of buildings and is used to supply a sprinkler and or standpipe system. It is important for first responders to know the buildings in their district and to check the Siamese Connections on a regular schedule. Siamese connections should be free from debris and in working order at all times. The concept is simple; the Siamese Connection allows two separate hoses to be joined together for the purpose of extinguishing a fire. Some apparatus still carry a Siamese, but it is seldom used on the fireground with today’s apparatus and hose configurations. The Bible provides a clear picture of what marriage is supposed to look like. God designed marriage and Christian first responders should be obedient to the truths contained in the Bible concerning marriage. Marriage brings two people together, a man and a woman, for the purpose of companionship and intimacy. Christian first responders also have the opportunity to illustrate the relationship between Jesus Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:31-32). As we live out our Christian values in our stations our marriages can help point others to Christ. We should never be caught talking bad about our spouse, but should always love and respect them for who they are in Christ. Our faithfulness to our spouse should also be evident to others, demonstrating to them the faithfulness of God to those He has a relationship with. God designed marriage and we can learn so much about Him through our marriage. Lord, thank You for giving us marriage and the ability to learn and grow with someone. Encouragement is a lifelong commitment!!
