My Top 10 Albums of 2014: Pink Floyd - The Endless River (Albeit it mostly leftover pieces from The Division Bell, its the first and final PF album in 20 years. nuff said.) Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats - Mind Control (Every song is unique and engaging. Ultimately a mix of BOC, Beatles, Sabbath & Zeppelin. Who could ask for more?) Agalloch - The Serpent and The Sphere (Epic, melodic, dark. My fave in a number of years.) Anathema - Distant Satellites (Emotional, big, beautiful. Its another Anathema release, and true to form. Always works for me.) John Garcia- s/t (Groove, mood & melody. You can hear the Kyuss. And hes still hitting the highs! Return to glory by the High Desert legend.) Mournful Congregation - Concrescence of the Sophia (Dark Death Doom with sick harmonies reminiscent of Forest of Equilibrium. The best I have personally heard by them.) The Skull - For Those Which Are Asleep (Heavy Doom Metal by riff masters, with Eric Wagner doing what he does best.) Vallenfyre - Splinters (Crushing throwback death metal by legendary alumni.) Bloodbath - Grand Morbid Funeral (Crushing throwback death metal by legendary alumni.) Pallbearer - Foundations of Burden (Yep. Its probably all been said already. Big step up from the debut. New kids on the block can do no wrong.)
