Sideshow: Provoke I think its important, when using the Provoke app, to understand the background and photography history behind it. Below is a very informative link. Provoke Magazine was one of those short-lived but highly influential arts magazines; it represented the work of the generation of Japanese photographers after WW II. This photographic movement is the visual equivalent of Butoh theater. I am very familiar with two photographers of this generation, Eikoh Hosoe and Masahisa Fukase, as I own American editions of their books; its incredibly memorable, dark, sensuous, often e,optionally disturbing work. So for me, anyway, this weeks Provoke challenge isnt about pretty B&W pictures.
