Sierra Leoneans need an explanation from the Military and - TopicsExpress

Sierra Leoneans need an explanation from the Military and Government. The recent compulsory retirement of many of our military officers need explanations. Few of them are retired because of the attainment of age (55 years) which is the retirement age. While others are forced to retire without tangible reasons. Having listened to Monologue program cogitatively, there is a conclusion that the Military officers were forced to retire for no good reasons and even those who forced them to retire have no reason to put forward as to why the officers were forced to retire. During the press conference at the defense head quarter, Journalists did not get answers as to why our gallant soldiers some of whom are below thirty while some are below the retirement age were forced to retire. Even David Tambayo was angry at a point for not getting answers from the Military spokesman. My question is, what is really happening in our country. The retiree soldiers suggested that HE may have been deceived by the military council by giving false reasons why they should be forced to retire. I would say, if that is true, why HE didn’t cross check before signing the forced retirement documents. What is actually clear is that, some people in the military are bent on brining division within the military ranks. They should remember that we are living in democratic state not an autocratic state. Someone from the Military should tell us whether these officers were forced to retire base on misconduct or not. But nobody said anything on reasons for their forced retirement. Let me emphasize that, no reason as to why the military officers were forced to retire was given. The military officers did not know why they were forced to retire. What is the crime they committed that warranted their forced retirement? It is not bad for the general public to know the reasons for the forced retirement. I rest my case.
