Sigh. #hack4good press, maybe. I dunno right now. Still havent heard a single actual word back from anyone who was ostensibly looking for it on the work done to date or the documentation on it that I sent along. Heard from a bunch of people also _not_ on the ground who want me to volunteer to chase down some random data set or other that _they_ think might be interesting and force-fit it in there, to what specific end is unclear. Médécins sans Frontières reportedly discovered the site and was disappointed to find no medical information on there, only school closures. Never mind that no one from Médécins sans Frontières actually took the trouble to contact me via the clearly displayed email address right there on the home page. I suppose I could just _invent_ some medical information if that would somehow gratify them. Meanwhile someone wants me to set up a microsite on a separate domain (out of whose pocket the proposed registration fee is meant to come is unclear) to create a microsite dedicated to _nothing_ but school closures. While I have yet to actually hear that the people whose schools are being closed stand any chance of deriving any actual benefit from this labor. So, no. Nuh uh. Its the Occupy Wall Street IT effort all over again so far — a science fair. A lot of wheels being spun with zero evidence that I can see of any of it actually achieving wheels down status for anyone actually _doing_ anything in the Philippines. Im discouraged.
