Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, and the Department of English are sponsoring “The Not-So-Big Book Read” during Fall 2013. Bringing undergraduate and graduate students together with faculty, the “Not-So-Big Book Read” will read the critically well-received We the Animals (2011), by Justin Torres. This semester, we’ve chosen a shorter work (a novel as collection of short stories) and the goal of the series is to read the entire work in one month – 125 [4 pages a day], and participate in a lively and thoughtful conversation about this New York Times notable contemporary work. Our focus is the joy of reading and talking about books, so we encourage all to come and participate. The Not-So-Big Book Read’s first meeting will be Tuesday, October 1, from 6 – 7:30 p.m tentatively scheduled for LAB 202. All faculty, instructors, and adjuncts are welcomed. If you are interested or need further information please contact Dr. Luis Iglesias, faculty advisor to Sigma Tau Delta at [email protected].
