Sign Al Frankens petition in support of Net Neutrality. This was supposed to be a non-starter, but the corporations got their hooks in some of the FCC members, and it turned into a debacle for the little people. Net Neutrality (also network neutrality or Internet neutrality) is the principle that Internet service providers and governments should treat all data on the Internet equally, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment, and modes of communication. This concept ORIGINATED with the telegraph, was codified with the advent of the telephone, and WOULD be the same now, EXCEPT the FCC issued a Policy Statement and MUDDIED the waters. Now, the controllers of YOUR access to the internet are LICKING their chops, in anticipation of CHARGING for access, for speed, and for sites you are NOT interested in, being WEIGHT-LISTED, so THEY come up, INSTEAD of the ones you ARE looking for! This is NOT a passing fancy, it IS something you SHOULD be concerned about! Take a moment to fill out the petition, to get this BACK on the FCCs agenda! Or, failing that, to get it into Congress, and into law! The MORE who sign up, the more likely politicians are to PAY ATTENTION!
