As part of the deal, the U.S. committed to ambitious goals for reducing carbon emissions and China agreed to stop its carbon emissions from increasing by 2030. The Obama administration has been working hard behind the scenes to make this happen. Thank President Obama and urge him to continue to be a world leader to curb climate change and build an international clean energy economy. As the worlds two largest carbon emitters, this agreement could have a huge impact. Next year, representatives from countries from across the globe will meet in Paris to set worldwide targets for reducing climate pollution. With the commitments from the U.S. and China leading the way, other countries will be more likely to follow suit. Its no coincidence that this agreement is happening now. Over the last few years, youve sent the message loud and clear that the time to act on climate is now. Millions of Americans sent comments supporting the EPAs plan to cut carbon emissions from dirty power plants. And seven weeks ago, more than 400,000 people marched in New York City calling on our leaders to act on climate.
