Signing off from Cambodia: What a great day we have had. Our boat cruise took us to an island for about an hour of great snorkelling. I warned the kids about the sea urchins and how they sting, so of course one got me with three stingers in my right foot. Im going to have fun getting those out. I may have said a naughty word or two at that moment-hopefully the water muffled my voice. But the scenery was beautiful and students who were reluctant to get in the water were really glad they did when they were brave enough to overcome their initial fears. There were many different types of colourful fish and at least a dozen different types of coral with a variety of shapes and textures. Even the demon sea urchins have a breathtaking blue ring on them. We then cruised to another island which was spectacular in every respect. The view of other surrounding islands and crystal clean water had the students asking if we might stay another day or two. An absolutely ferocious volleyball game broke out on the beach with Cowles Crew soundly trouncing Halls Hooligans. Many of the students displayed outstanding talent. We then went for a quick swim to get all the sand off us and to cool off. Then it was back on board our luxury cruise ship (a.k.a. local fishing boat) and back for a big lunch, as most of us were ravenously hungry! Once again the heat has taken its toll as the students are now plumb pooped! So we are delaying our jet-ski rides until tomorrow morning. We will leave here at 1:00pm and hopefully arrive at the airport in Phnom Penh at around dinner time and even though we dont take off until after 11:00pm, Im not comfortable cutting it any closer than this. Im sure a few card games will happen as we await our flight. Well, as I said yesterday this is my last report from here. It has been one adventure(sorry I couldnt resist the weak joke here) after another. Looking forward to seeing you all at the airport Thursday morning.
