Signs na nagsink-in na talaga sa iyo na magulang ka na: 1. You have graduated from reading Candy, Seventeen, Vanity Fair, Mega, and Preview. Good Housekeeping is the newest gem in the haystack. 2. When you were a teenager you used to go to your room, lock the door, and vent all you want when you get emotional. Now as a parent, or a mom in this case, the kitchen is all yours. Your throne. Your territory. Now, where is that tub of Haagen Dazs? 3. You care about the inflation rate. As in sa presyo ng gasulina, karne, de lata, kahit kangkong. 4. Your first stop at SM is the grocery store, or the Kids Dept. Maybe the Appliance Center. But not the Womens or Mens Clothing Dept. anymore. You shop till you drop but the money was spent on baby clothes and food, but not for your own selfish sake. 5. You save for insurance policies, tuition fees, and medical expenses. Dati maka-ipon ka lang for the latest iPhone, okay na. 6. See number 5. Is iPhone really important? Okay na ang kahit anong phone sa totoo lang. 7. You now understand why the television is called the idiot box. 8. You forget your sense of style when you need to rush your kids to the emergency room. Eto ang laman ng Instagram post mo with the hashtag #ootd (outfit of the day) - make up : au naturelle by moi - hair: instant dreadlocks c/o your pillow and unstable sleeping position - top : sweaty shirt with tie-dye design c/o your hinihiwang kamatis and bell pepper - bottom: pajamas with floral design from your neighborhood palengke. 9. Mas matindi pa yung pagdadasal mo kung may mangyari sa anak mo kesa nung manganganak ka pa lang. 10. You know what it is to care for another person more than you care for yourself. And you realize na totoo pala yung sinabi ng parents natin dati na pag nasasaktan tayo, how they wish na sila na lang yung nasasaktan kesa tayo. Di pala chorva yun. :p Thank God for blessing us with wonderful parents who love us without expecting anything in return. May He continue to guide us in our lifelong journey as parents. This is truly the one ride you dont want to miss.
