Signs of Desperation or plain Gangsterism? As the tide of opinion continues to go against them in the social media, the PAP Internet Brigade appear to be getting more desperate, and dangerous, engaging in harassment, name-calling, defamation and seditious incitement, all with the objective of discrediting their political masters many critics. Just yesterday, prominent and prolific blogger Roy Ngerng received a message from one such IB operative taunting him about his lifestyle choice and asking him to stop his nonsense which presumably refers to his postings and analyses critical of the PAP. Over the weekend, at least two fictitious accounts were created in an attempt to discredit Gilbert Goh of Transitioning.org. One was a fake account in Gilbert Gohs name and was used to post incendiary messages about foreigners. A police report has since been lodged and the account has been deleted The other went under the name of a Fernando Tan who similarly made incendiary postings inciting violence against Filipinos under pages publicizing todays May Day protest organized by Gilbert, with the aim of discrediting the event and protest movement. These acts of harassment are characteristic of the PAP IB and date back to at least 2011 which witnessed one of most divisive GEs in Singapores history. Back then, the PAP IB was already in overdrive, flamed by Jason Chua Chin Seng and egged on by The Straits Times. One of his IB Operators, Sebastian Lim who is the husband of a PAP grassroots operator, had at that time, posted a defamatory message about Workers Party Chairman Sylvia Lim saying that she had slept her way to her law degree. We understand that Sylvia was informed of this but she chose not to take any action in an act of magnanimity. As the build up to the upcoming GE continues with many speculating it to be in 2015, the PAP IB will no doubt go into overdrive and potentially may engage in even more dangerous online behavior given the traditional lack of action by the authorities against them. We urge all to be vigilant and report to us any such displays of gangsterism so we can expose the PAP and its dirty acts. Signs of Desperation or plain Gangsterism?
