Silicon Valley, Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Motors, unveiled his concept in August, for the Hyperloop - a high speed system of 28 person pods that would shoot through low-pressure tubes on air bearings. The Hyperloop would link San Francisco and Los Angeles; pods would blast down the I-5 corridor at 760 mph, reducing the journey from five and a half hours by car to just 35 minutes. This project should cost around $6bn, one tenth the proposed price of Californias high speed rail project. Hyperloop could link San Antonio suburbs and Mexico City suburbs of each other, with a journey of 75 minutes! Farther North, New York and Montreal would be only 75 minutes apart..each year people take six million rides from NY to Washington, DC., on Amtrak and two million rides by plane...passenger pods on the Hyperloop can depart up to every 30 seconds, which means that the Hyperloop can provide 7.4 million commutes a year...this would blend economies and cultures, and reshape the continent....all I can say is Bring It On.....
