Similar to The Pit, when Monica contacted The City about allowing us to use it for this event they were quick to go ahead and let us put cones or temporary barriers to block off the trouble spots, yet just as I expected how many people have been able to hold an event at The Pit since last year but now Monday after a whole year and The City not doing anything that alters or updates the space they are going to let us hold an event there. Same thing with The Street dieting all they would have to do is add parallel parking spaces on both sides of the street which they could do in one day and put up signs that does not allow people to park there between 7 am- 9 am, 12 pm-2pm and 5 pm-7 pm during weekdays as a trial. Cars could still use these outer lanes as they wish when parking is not permitted. The Pit and the Street Dieting could already be a reality and we could be learning to adapt these spaces and evolve the concepts into something that we as a community can appreciate and support. Instead we have had a bunch of arguing and feet dragging Which do you prefer? It is our job to lead the way if we want innovation and change in our community.
