Simulation Model Almun Arab League and United Nations Opening at Opera House gnrd.net/seemore.php?id=353 The ceremony was held with the presence of international and local representatives of GNRD, such as Mr. Ramdan Abu Jazr, Director of GNRD-Brussels, Mr. Magdy Kaoud, member of the GNRD Board of Directors, members of the GNRD observation mission to the Egypt’s Presidential Elections 2014, Dr. Abdel Aziz Khamis, Chairman of Arab Open University, Mr. Mohamed Megahed, representative of the UNESCO regional office, and Dr. Mazen Hassen academic supervisor of the model. In his speech Mr. Abu Jazar expressed the honor of the GNRD to be a partner and donor of the model, a bright scene for the Arab youth. He also made some notes on the possible development of the model and GNRD participation in it. Mr. Abu Jazar stated that support of youth initiatives such as the model is a necessary for the future of Egypt. Ms. Sahar Shehata, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, speaks about the role of the model in developing its participants, and its success during the past years, despite the tough time Egypt faced. Being the Secretary-General of the Model, Mr. Hammam Mubarak described how the members of the Secretariat have been working to achieve the purpose of the model according to its five-year strategy. Thus, their first aim is to work over the issue of the economic relations between the Arabic countries; second – is to develop relations between the European and Arabic countries; third – is to work over the creation of a mechanism to promote the Arab national security and a common strategy to combat terrorism; fourth – is to build institutional openness to the neighboring countries of the Arab world on the basis of mutual interests and benefits; and fifth – is to work out suggestions for the real changes in the way of decision making inside the Arab League. The Almun representatives honored the Global Network of Rights and Development for supporting the model. As a present the “Almun Shield” was handed to Mr. Abo Jazar. The Global Network of Rights and Development has a great honor to support the model and is grateful to each person working in this initiative. It is a priceless contribution to the development and success of the Arab youth.
