Sin is Dangerous. [1 Timothy 4:1-2] Participation in sin sears the conscience of men. Sin is so dangerous, so invasive, so permeating, that we cannot indulge it – or even tolerate its presence – without some effect on our own consciences and souls. To prevent sin from hardening our hearts is to realize deeper the fullness of the work of the cross. True Christian maturity is a growing sense of our inability, coupled with a growing sense of the sufficiency of the work of Christ. if we continue to abide in Him, our conscience will not be seared, but well abound in the goodness and righteousness of Jesus Christ.
