Since 1998 (for 15 years) I have been talking about GLBT issues weekly on the radio or thru podcasting in most recent years. Over those years, I was on air live every day of the trial against Matthew Shepards murderers up until the verdict was read. I was live on air the night that we all held our breath and gathered in parties to hear Ellen say, Im Gay. I celebrated with guests on the air when Massachusetts voted for marriage equality. And I reported about the landmark vote to strike down PROP 8 and DOMA from the Supreme Court this summer. BUT I never thought 15, 10, 5 or even 2 years ago that I would be able to legally marry in my state. What a momentous day! I am such a proud gay resident of Illinois!!! Thank you to the thousands and tens of thousand who have done ANYTHING...especially being an out GLBT Illinoisian or ally ....to help pass this bill. We DID IT!
