Since I dont usually bother to come in here and participate - TopicsExpress

Since I dont usually bother to come in here and participate (raising 6 grandkids is harder than I expected), I try not to come here and whine either, but I dont know where else to share this particular little thing. When I found my biological family, my birthfather was already dead. I was his only child. He had wanted me, but the laws for birthfathers, you know... So my grandparents and one of my uncles gave me a few things that had belong to David (b-dad), to comfort me, I guess. One of these things was a keychain. It was a metal cylinder with key rings on both ends. The metal cylinder was wrapped with a piece of plastic that had the logo of Amarillo Harley Davidson. David bought a few bikes from them over the years. I didnt always carry it, but sometimes I need more comfort than others. I started using his keychain again when the grandkids came to live here and times in our family were rough. However, the keychain was beginning to look pretty worn, so I ordered a similar type of keychain off of ebay. The new keychain came in the mail today. So I reached in my purse to get Davids keychain so I could switch everything out. And that is when I saw that the plastic piece with the Harley logo was gone. I have no idea when I lost it. I think within the last day or two. Hubby has been tearing everything up trying to find that piece of plastic, but it is gone. I feel it. How stupid of me to be using something like that. It was at least 30 years old. And I know it was just a thing, a piece of plastic. I would rather have my David back. But he was a proud Harley owner and I was proud to have a connection to that part of his life. It just occurs to me that if they would quit shaming unwed pregnant women and support them instead, maybe families wouldnt get ripped up. There would not be weepy women (who are feeling like little girls) who cry over a piece of plastic. There would not be men who died before they got to see their baby girls. Since every single situation is different, I try not to make sweeping pronouncements about adoption, but just for today I am going to say that adoption sucks. My heart has an owie over this. If you bothered to read all of this, thank you. Thank you.
