Since I had a 12 hour block for posting FACTS that were detrimental to what the establishment wanted, I will re-post it without names. Its interesting that the status quo would resort to the tactics of silencing anyones comments that do not correspond to what they want, Is it fear that people learn the truth? I posted all of it for everyone to decide. So Their position is, If you can not defend your positions silence the opposition. Thats what they are attempting to do. • A***l L****y I saw a post on Kevin Beckers Facebook page in regards to Tecumseh hiring 16 teachers. It said something along the lines of hiring 16 New teachers when they are poor . If I remember correctly 21 teachers retired. Anyone think this page could belong to Mr. Becker? Kevin Becker is running for school board in November. After looking at his Facebook page he will never have my vote. I stated on my page that I am reading both sites to better understand what both sides want and try to find common ground. If you feel the need to quote me please do so in its entirety and correctly. This is what I posted. ….(OK people I put a little time in this so bare with me. How much is Tecumseh REALLY saving putting our children on the road to fend for themselves? Let’s dig a little deeper. A high side number for a school bus driver is $15 per hour a bus gets 10 mpg in a rural setting and we have 31 buses. The buses lost 1 hour per day with the cut for ALL Busing going to the minimum. OK say the additional busing is 20 miles. (Which it isnt as the buses are there anyway) OK for sake of argument. $15 for the driver and $8 in fuel ($4 per gallon) OK a 1 hour cut saves $23 per bus times 31 buses or $713 per day equals $3,565 per week. We have 34 weeks in the school year. OK thats $121,210 lets add on say $40,000 in maintenance for sake of argument. It has to be done anyway but let’s add it anyway. Totals $161,210 Looks pretty good right. Well the state reimburses 54% of the busing cost so now we are down to a savings of $74,156.60. That’s less than the cost of a teacher with a masters plus 30 hours plus benefits. Base pay for that level is $68,003 as of 2012 plus a benefit package of around $16,320. 1 position costs $84,323. 1 position and our kids would not be dodging cars walking to school on 235 and US 40 under a law made in 1921 when the fastest thing on the road was a Ford Model T doing 35 MPH. Oh did I forget to mention with the financial crisis that the districts in, (Actually $300,000 in 2015) and our kids put in jeopardy. We were able to hire 16 new teachers. So safety of our kids is not a priority with the administration. Let’s just spend more and bleed more money from the community that has supported them all of these years. That seems to be the attitude. Can’t get money from the parents after 10 going on 11 attempts at a levy, let’s threaten the lives of their children.) END of ORIGINAL POST If you were to take the time and read my other posts you will see that I fully support ROTC that’s why I took the time to speak with Sgt. Ruiz at the car show at Tecumseh. Or took the time to go door to door and ASK People. I have done that. VOAG, Special Needs and Busing levies. Levies that are specific in nature. I support them, so do the residents. OH my numbers were about $19,000 off of what B**d M****n said at the School Board meeting. (Hes the superintendent of schools.) It took me 20 minutes with a calculator for mine. If you read the original post date, you can see that. It was before the meeting. Yes I was there.
