As you may already know, Bright has been acquired by LinkedIn—a company with a mission very similar to our own. We wanted to remind you that youll be able to access existing Bright account data through February 28, 2014, but will not be able to create new activity on the site. To better help you through the transition, weve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions: Is my Bright data being transferred to LinkedIn? It’s important for us to protect your privacy, so we will not transfer any personal data tied to your identity to LinkedIn unless we receive your consent (and we’ll reach out to you in the next few weeks if that is necessary). We will send to LinkedIn data that is anonymized, not tied to your identity. Will my data remain accessible on Bright? No. Bright account accounts will be shut down and you won’t be able to access your data after 2/28/14. With that in mind, we encourage you to download any data you need from Bright before that date. What is happening with my LinkedIn account? Bottom line is that the acquisition wont affect any LinkedIn accounts you have -- whether you had a Bright Job Seeker account or a Bright Hiring Solutions account. LinkedIn may offer you the chance to transfer your Bright information to your LinkedIn account (e.g., importing information form your Bright profile to your LinkedIn profile), but they would ask for your consent first. How do I download my Bright data? The only data that you are able to download from your Bright account are resumes that you previously created or uploaded to Bright. To download your resumes, login to your Bright account, click My Account in the upper right corner, then click Settings, and finally click Manage Resumes.
