Since I tend to be a bargain hunter with hotels (when traveling on business or for personal travel), I occasionally land in a place that just is a bit off (not enough to stop me from doing it...). Such was my stay last night in Aruba on my way back from Curacao where I was doing advance scouting for a 2016 tour with Laura Arnold Leibman. I found a reasonable rate at this hotel called the Mill Resort-- clearly a 1970s era concept hotel with a Dutch theme (replete with moat--with stagnant water and a fake windmill). This picture pretty much sums up the place--note the quality of the TV picture and the spout on the coffee pot. Not pictured: the blue hand painted stripe next to the shower fixtures for the cold water and the red hand painted stripe for hot. The new hotel across the street is simply beyond description for awful architecture. The walk on the beach was nice, but not my style--I prefer quiet and not developed.
