Since I took the Cold Water Challenge for ALS, Ive received private messages from several people on my friends list, questioning my decision to participate in this cause to raise funds for this charity. Im well aware that this association, and many others, use funds to conduct embryonic stem cell research in hopes of finding a cure for this disease, and it is because of this that I thought long and hard before committing to take this challenge. I arrived at my decision to take this challenge by asking myself one single question: If I had a family member suffering from this vicious disease, and I held the funds in my hand that would tip the scale for a cure to save their life and millions more, would I donate the money, or would I close my fist and allow the suffering to continue? I want to be clear about something: Im ***not*** trying to sway anyone who is on the fence about this controversial subject. I have the utmost respect for all of my readers and facebook friends, and I believe that we all have a right to our own views and opinions. Yes, Im a southerner. Yes, Im a Christian. Yes, I write ***clean*** romance novels, but that doesnt mean that my personal views and opinions on political and religious subjects are the same as yours.
