Since I will not be at the final race I want to thank the organisers for setting up this years series. I am off to the world masters mtb champs in Norway in two weeks from now (racing 24th Aug). When Bike NZ told me that I had qualified my training plan was going to rely on the cx series to hone my top end speed for what was going to be a 1hr sprint race. You can imagine my concern when I learned there would be no series! So, thanks, thanks, thanks for rescuing the series and for organising what turned out to be a fabulous bunch of races. I am going over to the race in Norway to win my age class (60+) and you can take some of the credit when I cross the line! Oh - and thanks to all the competitors, especially that young guy Jon who was so determined not to let me pass him during last weekends race. I think he needed cpr at the finish. I enjoyed the tussle Jon although you did get a wee bit too intimate at times!
