Since Im Canadian, we are celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend - which means that the start of the food-centered holiday celebrations is upon us! Personally, I love big family meals. We have almost always made a huge turkey dinner at Thanksgiving and Christmas, even when the kids werent old enough to eat that much and we didnt have other family joining us. I love the tradition and the significance of why we take the time to celebrate. These are times to enjoy, not stress out about eating too much or having to deny ones self of eating a specially prepared meal. Its not a time to start a new diet on Tuesday because you over-indulged on stuffing and pumpkin pie. Its great to enjoy food, but do we really want it to have that much power over us that we feel bad and regretful the next day? But the food is not the problem...a change in perspective puts food in its place. It doesnt need to go away. It doesnt have to be the center of your celebration. Heres how to change your perspective and finally celebrate without worrying about the food: wp.me/p3BQ71-n4
