Since President Obama was elected, Republicans made it very clear they had no interest in working with him. From day one, Republicans have been meeting behind closed doors to discuss how they can ensure that President Obama fails, to Mitch McConnell’s announcement in 2010, that the single more important thing they want to achieve was for President Obama to be a one term President. Not jobs, not the economy, not infrastructure or ensuring that President Obama succeeds, because his success means the success of the country. No, their single most important goal was to make sure President Obama failed. And, who can forget Rush Limbaugh announcing to his followers, and the Republican’s in Congress, “I hope he fails.”
