“Since death is the state when all gross levels of energy and consciousness have been dissolved, and only the subtle energies and consciousness remain, it is possible for an advanced yogin to meditatively induce a state which is almost identical to the actual experience of death. This can be achieved because it is possible to meditatively bring about the dissolution of the gross levels of energy and consciousness. When such a task is accomplished, the meditator gains an enormous potential to progress definitively in his or her spiritual practice. For at that stage, when the experience of fundamental inner radiance is genuinely effected through such a method, the yogin gains the capacity to actualize the illusory body of the meditational deity – thus ensuring the realization of perfect Buddhahood in his lifetime.” -The Dalai Lama in the Introductory Commentary for the Tibetan Book of the Dead This reminds me of near death experiences and the people who claim to have been changed by them. Here are many research subjects that need to be studied; - Effects of the Buddhist monk’s pineal gland during deep meditation - Bioluminescence patterns of the pineal gland during Buddhist monk’s deep meditation -Patterns of biophoton emission detection during Buddhist monk’s deep meditation Buddhist monks produce gamma brainwaves during deep meditation. A peak in gamma activity is also recorded seconds before cardiac arrest. This may explain near death experiences. It’s a neural surge of rapid gamma activity, which signifies the sense of vision is active. Lucid dreams were also confirmed to be a definable state of consciousness with an increase in gamma activity around 40 hertz in the frontal and frontolateral areas of the brain. I’m not suggesting near death experiences are lucid dreams, because after cardiac arrest, how could many of the patients see their own bodies and then decide to go upwards into that typical light at the end of the tunnel? You know how in 5 minutes you can dream what seems to be hours of dreaming? It’s such a focused state that it vibrates at the subatomic scale with gamma particles. This might have something to do with biophoton emissions by cells or even DMT –also known as METAtonin- production by the pineal gland, a powerful hallucinogen produced by the human body supposedly occurring in the human brain at 49 days of gestation and at the time of death according to Rick Strassman. “Rick Strassman, based on several years of intensive medical research, proposes that the release of DMT from the pineal gland at 49 days after conception marks the entrance of the spirit into the fetus. This 49-day prenatal period corresponds to the first signs of fetal pineal tissue, the differentiation of the gonads into male and female, and the time between the death of an individual and its soul’s next rebirth according to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.” I wouldn’t say that NDE’s are hallucinations either. Because I myself had my subjective NDE and like many others, I found the experience to be more than real, I found it to be the ultimate reality. But that’s very much like DMT being extracted from a plant and taken as a hallucinogen except the pineal gland might be naturally producing it at the time of death. The peak in gamma activity at the time of death might be a mechanism to ready us to depart the body in the form of quantized energy. With biophotons being emitted by our cells, microtubules in neurons with quantum vibrations occurring inside them, the pineal gland being bioluminescent, I think it’s highly probable that the soul reaches the quantum level and is already currently entangled with other parts of the cosmos where our soul is destined to go after we die. According to our vibrations, our experiences, our personality, we are vibrating at the frequency particles in stars which are entangled with you’re particles that you’re made out of because of your bodily and brain frequencies being entangled in a web of information by biophotons and the quantum vibrations in brain microtubules. I also suggest the tunnel, the typical “light at the end of the tunnel” tunnel, is actually all the other stars in the cosmos and when you travel at superluminal speeds between entangled particles –since we haven’t found out how entangled particles interact at a distance instantaneously-, it looks as if the stars going by are a tunnel because there are so many. That’s what I noticed in my experience. And the light at the end of the tunnel is a star. Our souls enter stars at the quantum level, at the subatomic scale and can resonate and exist in plasma as high-energy photons in a blissful world of light beyond time and space, timeless and eternal. It’s odd to come back from something that seemed eternal isn’t it?
